Hunting License Texas Resident
A person who has been living in Texas for six months or more is considered a resident. Residents are non-residents younger than 17 years old and active-duty military personnel and their dependents. Texas residents must possess a resident Hunting License Texas permit. For nuisance fur-bearing animals and feral hogs, a license is not required. Additional endorsements may also be required. Non-Resident
Non-resident hunters must possess a Hunting License Texas. You may need additional licenses or endorsements. Non-residents younger than 17 years old can purchase the resident Youth Texas. They are not eligible to purchase lifetime licenses.
Youth Hunting License Texas

Senior Hunting License Texas
Texas seniors 65 and older can apply for the Senior Resident Hunting Licence Package. You may need to add endorsements.
Disability Hunting License Texas
Except for disabled veterans, Texas does not provide a special hunting license for persons with disabilities. Some hunting methods may be available to hunters with disabilities. For more information, visit the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department website.
Veterans and Military Licenses
A resident hunting license is available for active-duty military personnel stationed overseas. Texas Resident Active Duty Military “Super Combo License” and the Texas Resident Active Duty Military Hunting Pack are available to active-duty military personnel who are Texas citizens.
Non-Texas residents as well as veterans may be eligible to receive the Disabled Veteran Super Combo License. A disability is defined as the loss of use of a limb, or a disability that has a rating of 50% or higher. For more information, visit the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department website.
Migratory Waterfowl Needs
For hunting migratory waterfowl, hunters must have the Federal Duck Stamp. All hunters over 17 years old must obtain the Texas Migratory Game Bird Endorsement. Hunters must also show proof of participation in the Harvest Information Program.
License expiration
Hunting licenses can be purchased from August 15 to Aug. 31 of next year. Texas residents can purchase a lifetime hunting licence.
Sporting Licenses, Game Harvests
Texas residents, as well as non-residents, must have a hunting license to hunt legal birds and animals. Except for licenses that are limited to a certain number of days or times, hunting licenses and stamp endorsements will be valid from Sept. 1 through Aug. 31 each year.
Except for the non-resident special hunt license and nonresident 5-day hunting license, a hunting license is valid to take all legal species of wildlife in hunting licence texas, including turkey, javelina and antelope as well as all small game and migratory birds. There are stamp endorsement requirements.
For alligator hunting, special licenses and tags must be obtained.
You will also need a valid hunting licence
To hunt turkey, quail or lesser prairie chickens, you will need an Upland Game Bird Stamp endorsement. This stamp endorsement exemption is not required for non-residents who buy the spring turkey license.
You will need to obtain a Migratory Game Bird Endorsement (Migratory Information Program) and Certification for hunting any migratory bird, such as waterfowl and rail, gallinule and snipe.
Waterfowl hunters over 16 years old must have a valid Federal Duck Stamp.
Hunting Leases
Many texas towns are dependent on hunting leases for their economies. Hunt Texas is an online resource that TPWD launched to help landowners and hunters. Landowners can register leases through the website. Hunters can search by county and game type, lease term length, cost, and allowed weapons.
Fishing licenses
Except for licenses that are issued for specific time periods or days, all fishing licenses and stamp endorsements will only be valid from Sept. 1 to Aug. 31. You can purchase a saltwater stamp if you have a valid freshwater fishing package. You can purchase a saltwater fishing package and fish freshwater if you have a valid one. You can fish freshwater and saltwater simultaneously with an all-water package.
